Vintage Beni Ouarain Rug | 360 x 190 cm
An older vintage Beni Ouarain rug, gracefully worn into a low pile, yet standing proud with a strikingly tribal composition, as if inscribed with memory. Its structure unfolds like a triptych, each section a chapter in an abstract tale.
The story begins with a row of nearly identical lozenges, precise and quiet. The second, more expansive part bursts into a looser rhythm, larger, bolder diamonds form a complex lattice. The final part continues this network, now filled with fine raster motifs, like thoughts added in the margins.
Though its geometry may appear simple at first glance, a closer look reveals intricate, miniature constructions within each motif. Patterned side borders frame the central panel with grace and faint black selvedges subtly trace its edges. This rug carries visible signs of age at one end, a poetic reminder of its journey, which we are happy to restore on request.
Too delicate for high-traffic areas, this piece deserves a quiet, prominent place to be admired for its depth and soul.
