Vintage Boujad Flatweave / 315 x 172 cm

This vintage Boujad flatweave carries the subtle tension between restraint and expression. Woven in two distinct techniques, the piece unfolds across a softly faded magenta field, where alternating bands of flatwoven motifs and raised woolen patterning bring quiet rhythm and texture.

Its palette, burnt orange, white, charcoal, with soft touches of ice blue and pale pink, tells a modest but confident story. Woven throughout the horizontal bands are signature Boujad symbols, eight-pointed stars, flowers, and double crosses, repeated like protective mantras echoing through the threads.

There are no fringes here, only neatly closed stitch work and selvedges that seem to contain the story gently, as if to keep its tribal flair intact without excess.

A balanced expression of color and symbolism, this piece brings understated warmth and heritage into any space.
