Vintage Rehamna Hanbel / 320 x 188 cm

This vintage hanbel from the Rehamna region is a quiet masterpiece of rhythm and restraint. Its minimal yet expressive design draws from the earthy tones of the surrounding landscape, undyed ivory and brown, mingled with soft terracotta, sienna sunset orange and rose pink. The effect is like watching the desert exhale at dusk.

The subtle blending of colors through ikat-like patterning creates a smooth, almost painterly finish. Entirely wool on wool, warp and weft, the tight weave and flat, refined surface reveal the hands of a skilled artisan.

The composition is made of horizontal bands alternating fine lines with striking flame-like motifs, which dance across the surface with movement and grace. These motifs, distinctive of the Rehamna region, evoke both flickering firelight and the vitality of nomadic tradition.

Finished with short, clustered fringes on both ends, this piece makes an elegant and grounded statement, quiet but unforgettable.
