Vintage Boujad Kilim / 403 x 185 cm

A woven bouquet of radiant color and ancestral rhythm, this vintage Boujad kilim, possibly from the Tadla region, bursts with vibrancy and layered symbolism. Its vivid palette sings in tones of hot pink, magenta, saffron orange, lemon yellow, deep indigo and bright white. Black and dark brown outlines add contour and clarity, framing the composition like ink defining a dream.

Diamond grids, zigzags, and stepped lozenges bloom in structured bands across the field, echoing Berber tribal motifs passed down through generations. Transitions between sections are deliberate, as though marking shifts in rhythm or thought. Along the edges, a narrow motif band creates gentle order, and the kilim is beautifully finished with selvedges, a striped flatweave band and long twirled tassels, a tactile flourish to this already joyful piece.

Its aesthetic is pure Bohemia, nomadic and precise, a rare harmony of technical skill and expressive freedom.
